Not many know, that closest border to enter Nepal is via Mahendarnagar, Nepal which is only 300 KMS of drive from Delhi. We went to our Mausi's home for her grand daughter's first birthday and it turned into a grand catch up of all the cousins and further turned into crazy memories we brought back home. For anyone who might be thinking about the documents required, you do not require passport if you are an Indian citizen, just an Aadhar card and all documents for your vehicle would be essential. Upon arrival at the border, you would be asked to fill up some forms and pay road tax for the duration of your trip, so its important to ensure that you mention correct dates of entry and exit. Border we crossed was, Banbasa Border which enters into Mahindernagar.
