As a student enrolled in the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate, you'll have opportunities to take courses around the world that will provide a global perspective of the real estate finance, development, and construction industries. You'll benefit from the relationships that the Schack Institute has forged with international partners, including those with developers, financial firms, universities, governments, and NGOs. Through these partnerships, NYU Schack recently launched the Seminar in Post-Catastrophe Reconstruction, during which students gain hands-on experience rebuilding nations decimated by natural or man-made disasters. This course currently focuses on redevelopment solutions for Haiti in the wake of its devastating earthquake in 2010, and students are able to participate in real projects that put classroom theory into action. NYU Schack students also have the opportunity to benefit from unique networking and learning experiences while attending global real estate conferences, such as MIPIM in Cannes, France, and industry visits in Hong Kong. Our global trips give you exposure to up and coming real estate markets; students recently explored real estate practices in Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and travelled to Mumbai, India, to work with local developers on new residential and commercial projects. NYU Schack also has short exchange programs with Bocconi University in Milan, Italy, and the University of Amsterdam, allowing students from developed real estate markets to share knowledge and work together on current industry issues. NYU Schack also has an active Global Real Estate Club, which organized the Institute's first comprehensive global real estate conference in 2012.
