Michael E. Brier, Ph.D., Professor of Medicine, Pharmacology and Toxicology and Vice Chair of Faculty Affairs, Department of Medicine at The University of Louisville, presented "Drug Dosing in Renal Failure" at University of Louisville Department of Medicine Grand Rounds on December 21, 2017. The talk focused on identifying how decreased renal function affects the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drugs, evaluating the measured serum creatinine and estimated glomerular filtration rate to judge the level of renal function, determining if a dose or dosing interval adjustment is necessary, and the ability to apply the tools and services available to provide optimal therapy.
