A Charlotte woman says she worked the streets for years as a prostitute to feed her drug habit until she got help at a place few people know about. The McLod Centers for Wellbeing works with people who are addicted to drugs, but it's taking a new approach for the first time since the nonprofit was founded in 1969. Founded in 1969, the nonprofit helps people who can't afford to get help anywhere else. They're now reworking their approach to treating people who are addicted to drugs. "It's unusual to see someone who just has a substance use disorder," Mary Ward, president of McLeod Centers, said.
