In LA, Osunlade collaborated with iconic artists like Patti LaBelle and Freddie Jackson, showcasing his versatile talent as a composer and producer. The next chapter of Osunlade’s career led him to New York, where he founded Yoruba Records. This label was born from his desire to produce the type of music that resonated with his artistic vision and cultural roots. Under Yoruba Records, Osunlade has created a body of work that blends soulful house, deep house, and Afro-influenced sounds, enriching the global electronic music scene. He has worked with legendary figures such as Roy Ayers, Salif Keita, Cesária Évora, and Poranguí, further solidifying his reputation as an influential musician with a unique sound. Osunlade’s discography includes critically acclaimed albums such as Aquarian Moon (2006), Elements Beyond (2007) on the revived Strictly Rhythm Records, and Passage (2009). His music is distinguished by its deep spiritual and cultural themes, reflective of his identity as a priest of the Yoruba religion of Ifá.
