This piece first took shape in September 2021. Its deferred release was primarily due to what is often referred to as "empty nest syndrome". This term typically denotes a sense of sadness and solitude experienced by parents or caregivers when their offspring depart from the family home for the first time, perhaps to live independently or pursue higher education. In a metaphorical sense, I equate this song to my offspring :). At times, I produce a beat and leave it in a raw state, unstructured, until I can return to it later. Given that I was engaged full-time in my university studies and also holding down a casual job at the time, I found myself too occupied to revisit this piece and mold it into a coherent song. Once it had been arranged, I felt it held too much importance to be unveiled without achieving its pinnacle of refinement. Although it may not be without flaws, I am nonetheless extremely content with its current condition. Back in 2021 when I was creating this song, I spent a significant amount of time on typography. For the song's cover art, I attempted to recreate the same process by designing the word 'ETHER'. I may try it again as I have found a far superior way compared to what I used to do. I designed the song to play in a seamless loop, but Youtube may have destroyed what I sought to achieve with their incompetent delays between video playbacks. I hope you enjoy what I have created.
