Highlights of the Bishops First XV rugby performance against Boland in 2008. Boland Landbou is normally featured every year in the top twenty rugby schools in South Africa. In 2007, the Bishops First XV side, captained by Nick Koster, managed to curtail a comeback by Boland Landbou in Wellington and Bishops sneaked in a 36 - 33 away victory. Boland Landbou were devastated and it was their only home loss that year. The following year, 2008 - It was Boland Landbou's turn to come to the 'Piley Rees' at Bishops. They were desperately seeking revenge against Bishops. Much to their liking, after a week of sunshine, it turned out to be a rainy day on the Saturday and there wasn't a huge crowd of supporters due to the poor weather. The assumption was that Boland would use their big forwards and dominate the game upfront in the rain. What happened that day, will go down as a classic game in the history of Bishops Rugby. It was a complete masterclass performance from Bishops and they controlled the game from beginning to end. All those that witnessed the game were truly treated to running rugby at its finest. Boland Landbou have been around since 1962 and that day they suffered their worst rugby defeat in the history of their school. Had Bishops not squandered an extra three or four try opportunities, it may well have been over 100 points scored that day against Boland. God only knows what would have happened - had there been dry weather! Bishops played in full whites that day, instead of their usual navy blue. Now for the first time ever, highlights of the game is available to view in HD on YouTube. No highlights have ever been shown in HD before.
