First of all, I am thankful for TED-Ed itself and the fact that such a concept exists, giving people everywhere a voice. I find being part of this project an amazing opportunity to share a meaningful message that will hopefully reach people`s hearts and help or inspire them. In my case, I chose to talk about one of the experiences that taught me numerous lessons that ended up defining the person I am today. Through pain, hope, fear, and vulnerability I am hoping to inspire others to see that the most difficult setbacks of life bring us to the most wonderful realizations. They push us towards the one thing that opens our gateway to self-development, leaving our comfort zones. Ana is a very mature and strong student who chooses vulnerability and genuine sincerity to inspire others to have courage in dark times. Many teenagers will identify themselves with her story as she openly talks about eating disorders, mental health issues, and depression, aspects that are very common among 21st-century teenagers. TED-Ed, TED's education initiative, inspires tomorrow's TED speakers and future leaders by supporting students in discovering, developing and sharing their big ideas in the form of short, TED-style talks. In the TED-Ed Student Talk program, students work together to discuss and celebrate creative ideas through TED-Ed's flexible curriculum.
