On a recent trip to Torquay, I was able to rent a Leitner Electric Bike for $7 from the place I was staying. I thought this was a great opportunity to compare the Leitner Electric Bike to the Anaconda Electric Bike I currently own. When I purchased the Anaconda electric bike I had doubts as to whether an electric bike would handle the hills where I live so was hesitant on paying too much, for something that may or may not work to my satisfaction. As it turned out, the Anaconda electric bike handles the hills quite well. Club price was $999 but normal price is $1999. I was also interested in the Leitner electric bike but being more expensive, didn't want to take the risk. After riding the Leitner electric bike I would now be happy to pay the extra approximately $300. I found the Leitner Electric Bike to be more comfortable than the Anaconda. With the Anaconda I found my hands would go numb and there's no adjustment for the handlebars. The Leitner handlebars angle back meaning I can sit more upright and thus not putting as much pressure on my hands. It may be my imagination, but the Leitner Electric Bike felt more powerful. Perhaps it was just the settings I used. The other issue is I prefer to be able to go to the shop where I purchased the electric bike for parts and support. Unfortunately, with Anaconda they didn't even have brake pads to sell when needed so I no longer have confidence that buying from a shop is any better than buying mail order. How the Leitner Electric Bike would perform long term I don't know. I only rode the bike for about an hour. I did notice for the hill ride in the last section of the video, the battery started at half full but showed empty by the time I reached the top of the hill, which really wasn't that long. This may not be an issue, but longer testing is required to see how the battery performs. Under pressure batteries do drop quickly but equalise once the pressure is removed. Overall, I was quite happy with the Leitner Electric Bike and would now be happy to purchase one if given the choice between the Anaconda and Leitner bikes. Please subscribe. It really helps. https://www.youtube.com/user/kelvinel... https://www.SpeedCameraLocations.com.au
