Less than 3 years ago, Tampere opened its new tram system. After construction started in 2017, in August 2021, the system was opened. Only last year, the extension to Santalahti was inaugurated, and a further extension is set to open in January 2025. Tampere is one of quite a lot of cities building a completely new tram system from scratch. The trams used are the magnificent Artic X34s, built by Škoda Transtech. This video is the 34th episode of the series Urban Transport, with full-on descriptions of various urban public transport networks (mostly in Europe).
