From the album: "Borderline" Thematically, the new single tackles a controversial and highly topical social problem - the negative impact on social interaction through compensation through virtual communication and, above all, smartphones. We have less and less time for real social interactions, we are making friendships on screens and increasingly losing our social skills. The grunge / rock band ATAME wants to address the fact that this is sadly becoming a big topic among our kids and often not only leads to loneliness, but also enormous expectations and peer pressure. The lyrics which inspired by a zombie apocalypse, serve as an analogy to our society. In a typical schoolyard situation, where all students and even teachers are staring at their smartphones instead of communicating, laughing or having fun with each other. A single "normal" boy who unsuccessfully tries to get the other kids to play football with him, is starting to lose hope. Only one thing can redeem the "zombies" and turn them back into human beings ... By the way, the "normal" boy is played by Myriam's son Gabriel. For Myriam von M. herself and many other families, this is a real struggle: "We all just walk around like zombies, infected by a virus that is named smartphone and virtual communication. We do not even know how to communicate decently anymore. There is hardly a togetherness most are to themselves and their phones. But the worst thing is that we pass it on to our children as well, "claims the mother of two sons herself. Modern technology is increasingly separating us from our feelings and real experiences: "Let's take the example of a concert, because it's also about music. Hardly anyone enjoys it anymore, almost everyone watches the concert through the lens of their smartphones, that they hold up high in the air. "For the band ATAME, it's not about banishing smartphones and social media, more than being conscious about these facts and appropriate handling. With "Fight The Dead' ATAME is releasing a song that is not on the already in May 2019 published debut Album. It is a fusion of two album tracks: "Patient Zero" and "Fight The Dead". This new track will be video-premiered on November 3 and will also be released as a Single. –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– GERMAN: Thematisch greift die neue Single ein brisantes wie hochaktuelles gesellschaftliches Problem auf – die negative Beeinträchtigung des sozialen Miteinanders durch Kompensation mittels virtueller Kommunikation und vor allem Smartphones. Wir haben immer weniger Zeit für echte Interaktion, führen Freundschaften an den Bildschirmen und verlieren zunehmend unsere sozialen Kompetenzen & Skills. Dass das bereits bei den Kids ein großes Thema ist und nicht selten zu Vereinsamung, aber auch enorm hohem Erwartungsdruck führt, möchte die Grunge/ Rock Band ATAME mit ihrer neuen Single und vor allem auch ihrem dazugehörigen Video thematisieren. Der von einer Zombieapokalypse inspirierte Liedtext dient dabei als Analogie zu unserer Gesellschaft. In einer typischen Schulhofsituation, bei der alle Schüler und sogar Lehrer gebannt auf ihre Smartphones starren, anstatt miteinander zu kommunizieren, zu lachen oder Spaß zu haben, gibt es einen einzelnen „normalen“ Jungen, der erfolglos versucht, die anderen Kids zum Fußballspielen zu bewegen. Nur eines kann die „Zombies“ erlösen und in menschliche Wesen zurückverwandeln… Der “normale” Junge wird von Myriams Sohn Gabriel gespielt. Für Myriam von M. selbst als auch für viele Familien ist was hier ein wenig fantastisch dargestellt wird, ein reelles Problem: „Wir laufen doch alle nur noch wie Zombies durch die Gegend, infiziert von einem Virus, das sich Smartphone und virtuelle Kommunikation schimpft. Wir wissen gar nicht mehr wie das geht, anständig zu kommunizieren. Es gibt kaum noch ein Miteinander, eher ein Nebeneinander. Das Allerschlimmste ist aber, dass wir es an unsere Kinder genauso weitergeben“, erklärt die Mutter zweier Söhne. Die moderne Technik trennt uns zunehmend von unseren Gefühlen und echten Erlebnissen: „Nehmen wir mal das Beispiel Konzert, gerade weil es hier auch um Musik geht. Kaum jemand genießt es, fast alle schauen das Konzert nur noch durch die Linse ihrer Smartphones, dass sie hoch in die Luft halten.“ Dabei geht es der Band ATAME keineswegs darum, Smartphones und social Media zu verbannen, sondern darum, zu einen bewussten und angemessenen Umgang aufzurufen.
