Tactile bass guitar platform | RATTLECAN GUITAR RESTORATIONS by James O’Rear Building a platform for our bass players to stand on. Not just so they can feel amazing being four inches above other people, but so they can FELL the low end. If you are playing on a "dead stage" which is made of solid concrete you miss the experience of a strong low-end mix vibrating the fillings out of your teeth. It is also difficult to hear the lower bass notes don't reproduce so well in many lower end in-ear-monitor setups. So we made a 4' by 4' platform that holds a transducer (a speaker without the cone basically) and reproduces the low frequencies through the wood into the feet of the bassist. This is a test of this design, we may change the internal structure to suit the desires of our bassists. Stay tuned.
