Newcastle Christmas market walk in the snow

A wander around the snowy streets of Newcastle Upon Tyne in the north of England. It's Friday morning and we join students making their way to the university along Percy Street. Then we cross to Haymarket to see the impressive memorial angel and the imposing St Thomas' church. Into the sun we continue along Northumberland Street, among the early shoppers. Passing the famous Fenwick's department store, we round the corner to see the towering Earl Grey monument and Eldon Square. Yes, the tea was named after him. Then we have a little look at the Christmas markets and stalls, down to the Theatre Royal, with the beautiful Grey Street curving down the hill before us. Then we retrace our steps a little and back towards Eldon square, where we end the walk at yet another impressive monument.
