In three days, we managed a quick trip around northern Bohemia, specifically we visited a beautiful natural phenomenon - Adršpašské skaly, and from there we proceeded south to the cities of Hradec Králové and Pardubice. We spent one day here and on the way to Slovakia to the east we saw the city of Litomyšl, the birthplace of the world-famous composer Bendrich Smetana, and at the end of our trip, the city of Olomouc surprised us with its beauty and history. Day 1: Adršpašské skály and Hradec Králové *Morning: Adršpašské skály* Start your journey in the stunning Adršpašské skály, a magnificent rock city located in northeastern Bohemia. Known for its towering sandstone formations, this natural wonder offers a variety of hiking trails that take you through labyrinths of rocks, waterfalls, and serene lakes. Make sure to visit the picturesque Adršpašské Lake and the unique rock formations like the “Mayor and Mayoress.” *Afternoon: Hradec Králové* After exploring Adršpašské skály, head to Hradec Králové, a charming city with a blend of historical and modern architecture. Visit the Great Square (Velké náměstí) where you can see the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, the White Tower, and the Old Town Hall. Stroll along the riverbanks or relax in one of the many parks. Day 2: Pardubice and Litomyšl *Morning: Pardubice* Drive to Pardubice, famous for its gingerbread and horse racing. Start your visit at the Renaissance-style Pardubice Castle, which houses the East Bohemian Museum. Explore the historical city center with its beautiful Renaissance and Baroque buildings. Begin at the Holy Trinity Column, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and then explore the Upper Square (Horní náměstí) with its impressive Town Hall and astronomical clock. Visit St. Wenceslas Cathedral and the Archdiocesan Museum for a dose of history and art. Don’t miss the beautiful Olomouc University grounds and the serene parks surrounding the city.
