This is one of a series of videos released by VHHA in June 2023 in recognition of the annual Hospitals Against Violence Initiative focused on identifying strategies to combat workplace and community violence. The video series features the raw, emotional stories of hospital nurses who have firsthand experience with workplace violence in clinical settings. The sad reality is workplace violence against health care workers is a growing problem. Data consistently shows health care professionals face a higher risk of workplace violence than workers in other professions. And many more incidents go unreported. Please treat clinical workers with respect. Harming or threatening a health care worker doing their job is against the law and it interferes with care for other patients.
