PATREON: www.patreon.com/exploreoregon NOTE: There is a small glitch about 31:00 in that seemed to be making the whole video glitch (at least on my end) but when I just refreshed it played normal. I'll be keeping an eye on it as this was in the premiere of the video so it might just be something goofy there. But the video I used to upload with is fine so worst case I just may have to re-upload this if this issue comes back. This video was an adventure... leading me to multiple places I had hardly or never before been to in Portland, Oregon's early history. If you look up the oldest bridge or the first bridge built in the city you will often be led to the 1887 first version of the Morrison Bridge. And in all fairness, that bridge was a cut above those that came before it... but there were other bridges that came before it. With a few exception, this film will look at those early bridges (at least the ones I could find) that came before 1887 and are located in places where there is no bridge in existence today. Broken into three parts: the first portion focuses on a general history of these bridges in terms of what they were like and the environment they were built in; the second part takes us to the places on the west side where these bridges existed; and finally, in part three, we look at the places where these bridges were located on the east side. A lot of information I previously never knew and a lot of information that I have not seen delved into or discussed anywhere online. Enjoy!
