How to Make a Simple Frame Loom Without Nails or Pegs

Learn how to make the simplest frame loom using just an old picture frame and either a pencil and ruler, or a paper tape measure and some glue. There are so many variations of frame looms. Some have notches, some slits, some nails and some with just the frame. All of them are capable of producing the same results. At the end of the day it boils down to budget and personal preference. Weaving can be done on a very tight budget, or you can really splash out on all the gear and materials. I'd strongly suggest starting with a loom like this, or a version with nails (see link to tutorial below). Don't spend loads of money on equipment and materials until you've worked out what you like, you might like weaving more detailed designs, or like working with bigger yarns and fibres. You might just love it all and want a loom in every size and style but at least you'll know what you're looking for once you've got the basics.
