They play a crucial role in male fertility by producing around 60–70% of the ejaculate volume, secreting an alkaline, fructose-rich fluid that nourishes sperm and enhances their motility. This secretion also contains prostaglandins and clotting proteins, which aid in sperm viability and protection within the female reproductive tract. Each seminal vesicle joins the vas deferens to form the ejaculatory duct, which opens into the prostatic urethra. Arterial supply is derived from the inferior vesical and middle rectal arteries, while venous drainage follows similar routes 🩸. Lymphatics drain into the external and internal iliac nodes, and innervation is from the inferior hypogastric plexus.
