How to replace Johnson Viking II Transmitter High Voltage Filter Capacitor C9 D-Lab custom Module

A growing problem in the vintage transmitters, Oil filled power supply caps, aging, leaking. A very hazardous situation. I am seeing more of these metal housed capacitators leaking oil, corroding chassis, waiting to contaminate you with PCB's. It is time to change them with modern electrolytic's. I have developed a custom drop in replacement. It consists of 2 series 500VDC caps on a military grade turret board. Does the antique Viking justice. I cannot guarantee they will last 60 years, but it will eliminate the pending hazard that the old leaking tin can may unleash! I have limited supplies for this project. E-mail me if your in need. I will supply a simple hook up diagram and of course reference this video for more details. Take a look on the web that reference PCB filled transformers and caps. There is also special instructions regarding proper disposal of them. From my reading it appears that PCB type oil use was discontinued after 1980. These transmitters and others date back into the early 50's. Use caution when working around them.
