Built on an isolated island (Pamalican Island) tucked away to the south of Manila, the resort is frequented by celebrities and dignitaries including Bill Gates, Tom Cruise and BTS thanks to its high-level of privacy and legendary service. Recently I stayed at the beach front Casita and experienced this floating Utopia--RIGHT AFTER Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach's surprise proposal at the very same bamboo bar (check out the video at 3:55!) Below are my review and some tips! 1. Expect private jets-but not the fancy ones! Amanpulo shuttles its guests using 2 private jets connecting the island directly with the NAIA airport in metro Manila. But these are older models and you could tell the AC units are struggling😆 Nonetheless, this is the most efficient and only way to get in and out of Amanpulo. Privacy: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ TIP: Before hopping on the jet, you are required to show NEGATIVE PCR test, and there's also a brief health check before boarding. Same day transfers between the airport and Amanpulo Lounge in Manila are free. 2. Arrival: once you arrive, you will be greeted with flower leis, your butler (who books your activities) and buggy (who drives you around). You can safely assume the staff at the resort already knows what you look like and what you might prefer (or ask for your preference) on food, fashion etc. This is where they go the extra mile for hospitality--and some. Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3. The Casita: simply gorgeous. There are about 29 beach front Casitas and 13 hillside and treetop Casitas. Plus 18 Villas. Extra: We were told that the Filipino President-Elect and his entourage were vacationing at the private villas during our stay. Lodging: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4. Activities: there are a decent variety of things to do from the land to the sea: turtle releasing, SPA, sunset cruise, private dinner at the most beautiful outposts (and expect tasteful decorations and ACTUALLY delicious meals), kite surfing, snorkeling and star gazing! It has its own organic farms and healing gardens that supply the SPA and restaurants. LifeStyle: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Facility: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5. OK, my only caveat is I wish there were more restaurants--just ONE MORE will be perfect. Don't get me wrong, all three restaurants on the island serve superb meals. But who can say no to more options? TIPS: The Japanese restaurant located on the north side is the best IMHO, def need to go early!
