On December 3rd, 2024 the Taal volcano unexpectedly produced a powerful explosive eruption. This involved a 4-minute-long eruption which generated pyroclastic flows, representing Taal's largest eruption in 41 months. Yet, there are no new evacuations due to this eruption, and Taal's alert level is staying the same as it was last month. This video will discuss why this is the case, what has occurred recently at Taal, and what might happen next.
