'Change over Years' pictured at the GCR 'Last Hurrah' Gala - 15th Nov 2025

The close of play on the Great Central Railway's operating season saw their annual 'Last Hurrah' Gala as has become the norm. This particular event had a "change over years" feel with some early diesels and stadard design loco's in action. A mixture of steam and diesel loco's were in charge of an intensive timetable of both passenger and goods trains. A couple of guest diesels hanging around after the lines diesel gala were in action. Class 27 D5370, on loan from the Caledonian Railway, was in action aloneside Class 35 'Hymek' D7018, on loan from DPEG at the West Somerset Railway. The home fleet of steam loco's was also in action, which took a hit after the recent withdrawal of 8F 48305, all of which feature during the video.
