South City Underdogs - The story of how an unknown man, who briefly appeared on a public access television show in 1994, became "internet famous" decades later without his knowledge. In this short documentary, filmmaker Joe Parisi searches for the unknown man’s identity and current whereabouts, and tries to figure out how this possibly could have happened. This search for answers takes Joe all around South St. Louis City, with constant reminders of local television’s bygone era. Explore the history of St. Louis-based public access television show World Wide Magazine, the show's creator Pete Parisi, and join Joe on the search for the man who uttered the now-famous phrase "I love Grand and Gravois, I growed up here". You'll also meet the man who became the keeper and preserver of the World Wide Magazine archives, Jim Varagona.
