The two Wolves of Yellowstone Links are listed below that I mentioned. They are great and I recommend watching them. If you notice that some of the clips look the same it is because the creators and I evidently have use of some of the same stock footage. The first video that I recommend is: How Wolves Change Rivers - • How Wolves Change Rivers It is beautifully narrated and a great feel good video. The second video is How Wolves Brought Yellowstone Back to Life - • How Wolves Brought Yellowstone Back to Life It is a little more in depth. Food webs in Yellowstone are undoubtedly very complex and I do not think that these videos are a complete and totally accurate depictions of wolf reintroduction in Yellowstone, but they do introduce some important topics that are forgotten in urban environments and that are never considered in dealing with nuisance wildlife inside homes. They also do not depict wolves as evil, bloodthirsty killers as they have been depicted in the past. I like that. Keep in mind that, like I said in the video, if an animal is inside your house it doesn't mean that ecology isn't functioning. Ecology has just extended itself to the inside of your house. Understanding this can be critical to getting control of your situation. My video on mice stealing cat food is Why Cats Don't Get Rid of Mice and How to Fix it. The link is: • Why Cats Won't Get Rid of Mice and How to ... It is another topic that is not considered when controlling rodents inside homes. Cats do not have complete control over a mouse population. Predators will depress population levels and shift distribution, but they generally do not eliminate the prey population. Even if they could, it would not be smart business. Where would the predator be? The same thing happens in your home as in Yellowstone National Park and on the Savannah. It is just a simpler web of players in your home. (Wolves switch off to deer when the elk population drops for example.) I hope you enjoyed the video. Please like, subscribe, and comment.
