India's Oxygen Crisis | COVID Second Wave | Barkha Dutt

Relentless loss, devastation and tragedy unfolding in the country as India witnesses an unprecedented surge in coronavirus cases across states. Barkha Dutt reports from various hospitals in the national capital to get an insight of the ordeals of the families of the patients who are coming to the hospitals to admit their lives ones. Outside a private hospital in Delhi stands a son who lost his father to Covid-19 and a woman who lost her husband. The boy told Mojo Story that the Hospital ran out of oxygen-beds, ventilators and made the family to sign a consent form saying if anything happens to the patient, it wouldn't be the hospital's liability. Scenes from outside the Fortis Hospital were even more worrying. Patients were being turned away as there were no beds available in the hospital. Hospitals like Jaipur Golden, Max and Rathi Hospital are putting out SOS tweets literally begging for Oxygen because they are left with limited hours of oxygen supply and they are unable to arrange some. Amidst all this, a Gurudwara in Ghaziabad near the national capital has started a unique "Oxygen Langar" where the volunteers provide free oxygen cylinders for the needy. People from all walks of life come here and oxygen is given to them irrespective of their faith. People are agitated and filled with anger against the authorities and the governments both Central and State, for mishandling the second wave of coronavirus pandemic and the mismanagement in hospitals. #India #SecondWave #Covid19 #Delhi Support Independent Journalism.
