Tour of Spelga | 7 Summits Around Spelga Reservoir | Cinematic Mourne Mountains Hike

An early start at 06:55 from the OTT car park for the Tour of Spelga, a brilliant 16km loop around Spelga Reservoir linking together seven Mourne Mountain summits. This is a no-talking cinematic hike, letting the mountains do the talking. Just the sound of the wind, boots on the trail, and the changing views across the Mournes. The weather was a bit hit and miss throughout the hike. Low cloud rolled in and out across the tops, sometimes hiding the views and sometimes revealing them, but thankfully the rain stayed away. Just a bit of wind to remind us we were high in the hills. Summits on this route: Slievenamuck Slievenamiskan Cock Mountain Pigeon Mountain Slieve Muck Carn Mountain Ott Mountain A fantastic way to explore the quieter side of the Mournes while linking together multiple peaks in one rewarding loop.
