As recently as a decade ago, many more coppersmiths worked in the Tambat Ali area of Kasba Peth, Pune, but today, the craft faces a stark decline. The once-thriving workshops, which resonated with the rhythmic clang of hundreds of hammers, now have far fewer artisans, making it difficult to fulfill larger orders.
