Why do aerodynamics matter for cyclists? How much difference does 'being aero' really make? We chat to professional cyclist and British time triallist Alex Dowsett about all things aero in the world of cycling. With insider tips, real-life experience of cycling aerodynamics, how the industry has evolved over time, and what the future holds for cycling speed and performance, this conversation has it all. Eric Degolier, Founder of Body Rocket, also provides an insight into how real-time CdA could be a game-changer for the sport and why the body position is crucial for any elite athlete or amateur cyclist looking for free speed on a bike. -- Body Rocket is creating the world’s first device to provide real-time aerodynamic data for cyclists and triathletes, with the accuracy of a wind tunnel. The patented technology (UK only and USA applied-for) provides the rider with real-time drag measurement collected by sensors on the seat post, handlebars and pedals, which is then beamed wirelessly to a Garmin cycle computer. Eric DeGolier, Founder, came up with the idea of Body Rocket while training to compete at the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens, as the able-bodied tandem captain with three-time Paralympian Matt King in the match sprint and kilo. A design engineer, he’s worked for industry leaders Trek Bicycles, PowerTap, and CycleOps. Find out more and sign up to be the first to hear about our launch: www.bodyrocket.cc
