Dedicated to ‪@RealDeathCorridor‬ Thank you for giving me the insight that this level is actually possible, I don't think I would have picked this up and went through with it if I didn't stumble across your 87 video :D This story began WAY before I started seriously playing DCN. Back in my "prime" when I verified Stalemate Redux, a player named Noctafly was also around who was insanely skilled. Top of the top skill. Fast forward to a month after I verified SMR, Nocta just bangs out Death Corridor 100% on his channel. I'm pretty sure he stole the verification from Kugelblitz but nonetheless he was the first person to beat a version of DC legitimately, so I was immediately interested. That interest did stop pretty fast tho cuz it felt impossible. Completely destroyed Yata and SMR in difficulty. I kept consistently playing the 50 mini wave though. Could not get consistent at it for the life of me and I messed around a bit with the 70 wave as well. Found that part really fun actually but that was that. Then, came the Noctafly exposal. Oopsie! So yea this level eventually became a lost memory. I never played it again after this, but DCN always intrigued me. Then Mentrillum appeared. I actually never tracked his progress playing this level but around July this year I stumbled upon all his progress videos. Absolutely surreal someone having 87% on this. Seeing him prove that DCN could be beaten gave me some hope for trying it! It is with exactly this reason I decided to dedicate this video to him. You're a legend man, you're the REAL death corridor man :D Fast forward to August 20th this year and I picked it up, just as unbalanced as I remembered it but I could make proper runs on it that I couldn't previously. 73 - 100 pretty quick, learned the ship and pretty quickly did 65 - 100. 53 - 100 took a bit longer because I had to play the ship from way further back but I did this run on my second or third day. 50 - 100, sigh that was WAY tougher but still doable. Around my 5th or 6th day though, I got 96%. 2700 attempts in. I had probably passed the 50 wave less than 10 times at this point but I had a day of absolute godmode and got 96. Worst fail ever for me. Between me getting 96 to me beating it, I passed the 50 miniwave upwards of 40 - 50 without beating it and reached 50% ~150 times minimum. It is by FAR the unluckiest I've ever gotten on a level and after 96 this became absolute mental torture that I can't properly express. There were many times where I actually felt like I was going to mentally break down playing this level. I kept thinking how much my 15 year old self would love this though. I wanted to verify something that I deem as legendary as this level, even if it's not the actual official version, which, good luck to both Icedcave and Kugelblitz! I'm rooting for you guys! How does it play? Right. This level is the most unbalanced level I have ever beaten. It's basically the Hard Machine of Death Corridors which is an absolutely terrible thing. Everything up until 50% is whatever, it's pretty difficult but not as hard as in DCZ and DCR i think. First half is way easier than both of those. But yeah second half is just mental. 50 wave is something you'd find in a top 10, wave after is just terrible, then it's easy again, the ship is yeah just bad ig, 70 wave is fun but very chokable from 0. From experience I just don't like the last ship either. I didn't just get 96, I got 94 a couple days later as well, ouch. I can't recommend this level one single bit and ESPECIALLY not without pausing. The nerves you get playing this I find are way worse than Bloodlust, have never had to pause on a level before. Difficulty? Impossible to say. The only thing I can know is objectively true is that this level is harder than Death Corridor Z, that level genuinely feels like a playground compared to this. That would place it somewhere right in between Bloodlust and PPF. Me personally? Sigh. It's harder than Escape Room for me, possible that it's close to Crimson Planet. I know the attempts say otherwise but this level is so not attempt grindy. It took me way longer to beat than Renevant. CHEERS!
