Lossiemouth East Beach - Moray - Scotland | 4K | DJI Mini 3 Pro and Pixel 8 Pro

Lossiemouth East Beach is one of the most stunning beaches on the east coast of Scotland. Stretching over four miles from Lossiemouth to Kingston, it offers a diverse landscape; the western end (nearest the town) boasts high-quality sand, while the eastern section is primarily gravel. One of the most fascinating features of this beach is the River Lossie, which flows behind the dunes before meeting the North Sea at the western edge. Because of the river's path, the beach is only accessible from the town via a bridge. The current bridge is brand new, having opened in 2022. Before this, visitors used a wooden bridge located slightly further from the main promenade, the remains of which can still be seen behind the dunes. We first visited Lossiemouth in 2021 when, unfortunately, the old bridge had been dismantled, and the new one was yet to be built. At the time, I couldn't even fly my drone from the riverbank due to the proximity of the military airfield (RAF Lossiemouth) on the other side of town. Last summer, we finally made it onto the sands to see those famous dunes up close—and it was well worth the wait! The sand quality is incredible, and the dunes are quite unique, especially near the town where large gaps break up the line. A Note for Drone Pilots The no-fly zone (NFZ) ends approximately one mile from the town. If you want to capture aerial footage, you’ll need to hike out of the restricted area, and even then, you can only film the beach from one side. While it is possible to obtain a flight permit from the airport, this requires prior arrangement, so I chose to simply stay clear of the restricted airspace. 🎵 Copyrighted music licensed from Lickd.
