Trying out FlyingIron Simulations Spitfire over EDOI Bienenfarm after it received a massive update (V.1.3.0). The Spitfire was already among my top 3 aircraft in MSFS, and it just got a lot better. The flight model and ground handling among many other things got completely redone and it feels like a whole new plane. To be honest I don't think I have ever seen a changelog as big as this one: https://flyingironsimulations.com/blo... Since my first video with the Spitfire is my only video that doesn't include the startup procedure and ground handling, I thought I should do a new one with it. The update is the perfect excuse to finally do that. Since a few of you asked for external replays, I finally worked out how to do it and included them. I've read a few comments over at the Flight Simulator forum about having difficulties on takeoff and while taxiing. I'm no expert, but two things that work for me and that I have seen real Spitfire pilots doing: Taxiing: You need to use big rudder deflections and counteract swings to the side the moment you see the nose starting to move. You need to be busy with your feet pretty much the whole time. If the rudder isn't enough, use very short bursts of the brakes. Takeoff: Slowly advance the throttle (+8 boost is plenty enough) Start with full backstick and full right aileron. Bring the stick forward to the neutral position when you feel the rudder become more affective and slowly reduce the aileron input. Use small rudder movements to keep it on the centerline. The flight was done over a beautiful freeware scenery of Bienenfarm. Bienenfarm is part of the famous QUAX Verein in Germany who often host classic events there.
