PS3 Revisited - Connecting to Wi-fi / Wireless Internet in 2023

Over 10 years since we created our last video on connecting the PS3 to Wi-fi (   • PS3 - Setting up a Wireless Internet Conne...  ), we revisit the PS3 to see how you can connect the console to wi-fi using modern routers. All PS3 models except CECHBxx have build-in 802.11b/g Wi-Fi. As long as your router supports this standard, you can connect the PS3 to the internet. The PS3 does not support 5 GHz or 6 GHz connections, so it is not compatible with newer routers that support only Wi-Fi 5 or 802.11ac / Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 6E or 802.11ax / Wi-Fi 7 or 802.11be. If you see your wi-fi network but are unable to connect to the internet, please make sure the wi-fi password is correct (the PS3 calls this the WPA Key). The password is case-sensitive, so you need to enter the password exactly as it's written on your router or other documentation. For example, if the password is "Pa$$Word", you must enter it exactly - using "pa$$word" will not work. If you need any help, let us know in the comments below.
