Tecnis Symfony extended depth of focus (EDOF) IOL - what to expect. Cataract removal and IOL choise is a complicated situation for any patient. Even doctors are in doubt which IOL to select for patient, based on visual needs. Multifocal technologies is well know to give patient spectacles independence. But multifocal IOLs has drawbacks such as haloes, glare and starburst phenomenum at night time. Another less known but annoying issue with multifocals is gaps in vision quality between focal points.
