Boscabel hall , Free camping , western Australia Toilets , pet friendly , 2 hrs North from Albany The Boscabel Hall was built around the 1917 by George Hunter and was financed by community funds. The timber is thought to have been cut and milled locally. It was opened in July 1919 by the Premier James Mitchell who was on tour of the Great Southern at the time. A caravan Australia Adventure The hall was originally used for school and church services and over the years was used for many social gatherings and dances, by the Boscabel CWA and also for storing cricket equipment for the nearby cricket club. The hall is still used today for the Fire Brigade meetings and on Election polling days. The hall is maintained by the Boscabel Hall Committee, a group of local people. The Boscabel Hall is situated in an isolated rural setting, 4km off the Albany Highway. There is no landscaping around the building which is timber framed with timber walls. The gabled roof is corrugated iron. Double wooden entrance doors open into a small enclosed porch. The kitchen is located in an extension to one side. Water tanks next to the kitchen provide water to the kitchen. An exposed brick chimney is located on the external wall of the kitchen. Internally, there are wooden floors and pine ceilings (not the originals). One of the original pianos in the district is still in the hall, and is in working order.
