The mansion has a history of being the first General Store in Chiang Mai. Not only is this a great restaurant to eat at, but it’s also traveling back in time and it’s actually a museum at the same time as it’s a restaurant. For the food, we ordered a range of different dishes, all based on Northern Thai cuisine, but dishes make use of high quality ingredients. The khao soi - curry egg noodles was fantastic - so incredibly rich and thick and hearty. I also loved the fried chicken wings with makwaen, a flowery spice that’s related to Sichuan pepper. Finally the other highlight dish was their gaeng hanglay, a Burmese Shan pork curry. This is no doubt one of the richest and meatiest versions you’ll have.
