Taoyuan farmers’ new mobile trucks take products everywhere｜Taiwan News

The agriculture industry now has its very own food truck! The Taoyuan Pingzhen Farmers’ Association designed an all-new truck to sell local produce and specialties. It even offers a place to eat and drink, so customers can enjoy fresh food right away. With a modern touch screen menu to order from, people can find the products they need while supporting local farmers in the process. Both sides of this cute yellow truck open up to display a wide array of fresh produce. Step closer and the smell of coffee wafts in the air. The Taoyuan Pingzhen Farmers’ Association designed this all-new food truck to promote local agricultural products. Liu Tzi-jui Local farmer We small-scale farmers really have to travel around and sell our products everywhere we can. This adds some challenges, as it takes more time, and we can’t be on-site to manage the farm. With all kinds of agricultural products available to purchase, customers can order on the touch screen to take home whichever ones they like. The farmers’ association no longer only sells goods at its local sales center. Now it can reach customers outside the area with its mobile food truck. Chan Han-wen Local farmer We’re really happy to see lots of Pingzhen’s great agricultural products promoted, like our pea sprout noodles. With a pull-out table, microwave, and coffee machine, customers can enjoy food and coffee right here at the truck. The association has 13 trucks like this, small yet fully equipped. They open up a whole new sales market for grateful local farmers. Yeh Ssu-wei Pingzhen Farmers’ Association director The association has high-quality products that we collect directly from farmers. It’s really a shame if they aren’t promoted. So we took the initiative to apply to the Ministry of Agriculture and city government to create these specialized trucks. They plan to add more delicious food and local specialties, sharing Taoyuan’s agricultural products with different parts of Taiwan. The farmers’ association food trucks have officially hit the road!
