Raising Awareness of Fintech Policy and Regulation in Rwanda

Rwanda is aiming to become a regional financial centre by 2050, and one of its strategies to achieve this is to become a launchpad for fintech innovation. However, fintech ecosystems globally have varying complexities and regulatory frameworks. To address this, the UNCDF partnered with the Central Bank of Rwanda in November 2022 to hold a workshop that brought together regulators, fintech companies, and other stakeholders to raise awareness of existing regulations and develop legal and regulatory toolkits to help fintech startups better cope with regulations. © UN Capital Development Fund 2023.
