This week on The Horti-Culturalists we're visiting a very beautiful garden in the gently rolling hills near Daylesford, about an hour outside of Melbourne, The Garden of St Erth. It was begun in the early 1980's by Tommy Garnett - who incidentally was a great garden writer with a regular column in the Age Newspaper - and helped a young Stephen Ryan with plant material for his nursery! The garden is now run by https://www.diggers.com.au/ which is a garden trust that operates three fabulous gardens in Victoria each with a nursery selling plants from the respective gardens - with great cafes too! Diggers club also has a great e-comm site so anyone in Australia will be able to order plants. (Australian growers cannot ship internationally unfortunately.) The Garden of St Erth is open to the public, as are the other two gardens run by Diggers Club, so check out the website for details. The plants we cover in this episode are: Arbutus unedo Punica granatum - Pomegranate Romneya coulteri Vitex agnus-castus Origanum 'Kent Beauty' Berberis thunbergii 'Rose Glow' Cynara cardunculus Elegia capensis
