George Floyd death: Biden hopes Trump “reads the Bible once in a while”

Democratic presidential candidate and former Vice President of the United States Joe Biden said on Tuesday in a speech during an event in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that he hopes U.S. President Donald Trump "reads the Bible once in a while” instead of holding it for photos in front of cameras. This comes after President Trump walked to St. John's Church across from Lafayette Park nearby the White House, after delivering a speech in which he threatened to deploy the military if “violence didn’t stop.” Biden said “the president might also want to open the U.S. Constitution and read the First Amendment,” and condemned Trump’s threats to use the military on peaceful protesters following the death of George Floyd. At the same time, Biden said there is no place for violence, looting or destroying properties, and it’s also acceptable for the police who sworn to protect the people to escalate tensions.
