This flight takes the Learjet 35A from Hamburg EDDH to Billund EKBI, flown in VR on VATSIM in proper northern European weather. The arrival into Billund is flown to CAT I minima, with reduced visibility, shifting winds and several cloud layers that make the approach both busy and rewarding. If you enjoy realistic IFR work in business jets, this flight shows it without dressing anything up. Before the flight I go over the Meteoblue aviation weather charts. Winds aloft, surface winds, the cloud tops, bases and the forecast visibility for the arrival. This gives a solid idea of where the turbulence is hiding and how tight the margins will be on final. The conditions on this leg require steady speed control and an early plan for staying ahead of the Learjet’s descent profile. On VATSIM, the flow includes IFR clearance in Hamburg, taxi guidance, SID departure, cruise toward Denmark and a STAR that leads directly into a low visibility ILS. Controllers provided realistic sequencing which kept the workload appropriately high for the weather. The VR view is recorded with OpenXR Mirror Capture and stabilized in OBS using the Live Vision Kit, which keeps the cockpit readable despite the gusty arrival. #VATSIM #Learjet35A #MSFS2020 #VR #IFR #Billund #EDDH #EKBI #FlightSimulation
