NASA, industry leaders outline progress towards Artemis 2 mission

The first crewed flight to the Moon since Apollo 17 is set to be NASA's Artemis 2 mission. While not a landing mission, the flight will continue to test capabilities and systems on the Orion spacecraft, the Space Launch System rocket and the ground systems supporting the mission at NASA's Kennedy Space Center. During this Jan. 29, 2025, panel at this year's SpaceCom conference, called "Getting to the Moon: Artemis II Mission," leaders from NASA, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Amentum discussed some of the changes between the Artemis 1 and 2 missions and the progress towards the Artemis 2 launch, which is currently targeting no later than April 2026.
