The primary storyline of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot follows the events of the Raditz Saga through to the end of the Kid Buu Saga of Dragon Ball Z. Goku (孫悟空 Son Gokū) is the main character of Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super & Dragon Ball GT, and is a pure-blooded Saiyan. He is the son of Bardock and Gine, husband of Chi-Chi, the father of Gohan and Goten, the grandfather of Pan, and later, the great-great grandfather of Goku Jr. His rival is Vegeta, who always wishes to surpass him in any means possible. Goku is the defender of planet Earth and informally leads the Z-Fighters. Throughout his life, he trains hard and strives to be the greatest fighter in the known universe, while at the same time using his amazing strength and skills to uphold peace. He is pure hearted being able to ride the Flying Nimbus. These qualities make him the perfect example of a hero. Despite his abilities, Goku isn't well educated leading him to have a very simple, practical view of the world, and he can also be oblivious, this leads others to conclude he is stupid. He is the main character of every Dragon Ball series. He is also called Kakarot by other Saiyans.
