EZ Disposal Recycling Truck: Mack LE Leach 2RII

Here’s the other video I shot in back in August of last year. You’ll probably recognize this helper from the majority of my Capitol videos back from 2016. The two trucks you see in the beginning unfortunately I could not film. The McNeilus rear loader was doing trash, and the Mack MR Leach was doing greens. The driver of the McNeilus didn’t want to be filmed, and the only way I could have kept up with the greens guys would be if I had access to a car (which I did not). The LEU McNeilus I posted on trash was actually on the other half of the route, and the recycling there was done by a Labrie Expert 2000. I didn’t get to film the Expert but my buddy Nick found it the day after I shot this and followed it for a good 20 minutes. I’ll say a few things about this truck. It’s an old Mack LE, which means some decent black smoke clouds for those who like seeing that. It’s definitely a slower packer compared to the McNeilus, which is why they put it on recycle. If you look closely it looks like the guy has to hold down a button to throttle the packer every time which I bet gets annoying fast. The cart tippers are so painfully slow that they never get used, which is a problem because this route has since been rolled out with 64 gallon cascades for recycling. Last I heard they were getting hand dumped. Funny how something like carts are supposed to save the worker’s bodies but with a situation like this actually hurts their backs MORE than if Waltham stuck with the little tubs and light 32 gallon Rubbermaids.
