Jeremiah finds himself sitting in the middle of a war-torn land that used to be Jerusalem. Jeremiah is like a war correspondent. Like a eulogy at a funeral, Jeremiah mourns a great loss—the loss of a nation. In this tragedy with death and destruction all around him, Jeremiah reaches deep inside himself to recall what he knows about God, and that gives us one of the greatest passages of the entire Bible.
