2016 Hyundai Accent Active review - quick walkaround | CarAdvice

With Hyundai dropping the baby i20 from the Australian market, the Accent is the smallest offering from the Korean brand. As well as some great standard inclusions, it offers an impressive amount of space for a light car. Available as a hatch or sedan, pricing starts from $14,990 before on-road costs for either body style with a manual transmission. This is the entry level Active with a continuously variable transmission. It’s colour options are a little limited compared to other small cars that focus on that fun and funky vibe to attract young buyers – this is Crystal White – you can get a cool yellow called Sunflower for something different to the usual. The Accent gets a five-inch touchscreen with Siri Eyes Free and Google now voice command. There are no parking sensors though and you can’t option a reversing camera though. The back seat is impressively spacious and you could convince two adults to take a trip back here without too many complaints. Boot space is a key feature of this car – 370-litres even with a full size spare – rare in a car this size. Under the bonnet is a 1.4-litre four-cylinder engine. Now it’s not a powerful car by any stretch of the imagination, but the ride around town is pretty good. We loaned it to one of our CarAdvice colleagues that is in the target demo – here’s what Zoe thought. The Accent has a five-star ANCAP rating and comes with Hyundai’s five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty and a capped-price servicing plan. If you’re after a small hatch or sedan with decent space – this is worth a look. ------------------------------------------------------------- http://CarAdvice.com.au is focused on getting people into the right car for them.
