In this video I take the step to remove the cylinder head while the engine block is still in the van. To complete this task I followed the step by step guide from the Haynes manual for VW transporter, it does cover the 4 and 5 cylinders, however what it failed to mention is that you also need to remove the alternator to get to the bracket that is bolted to the cylinder head. Again this is the 2.5tdi acv engine 102bhp which has been re-mapped. The cylinder head was rebuilt about 7 years ago by the previous owner after the fitting belt snapped. After 40,000miles and having no compression in cylinder 2 I'm thinking maybe some previous damage was done to the bores. A closer inspection of the head, pistons and bores should prove to be conclusive, which I will carry out at a later date.
