I hope the game is not too far in the development...! I recorded this so you guys don't have to! About the good parts, it has the cute aesthetics, things are clear enough after some trial and error, and jumping to absorb the bullets and convert them for power up to access the Gradius-style power up is cool. Nice. The bad parts are in the execution. The worst part is INERTIA! To keep it simple why INERTIA in shmup = BAD, this makes tap-dodging unnecessary slow! Man, moving this tentacle guy feels so HEAVY! This game has a LOT of aimed bullets that are impossible to jump over safely. The solution? Tap-dodging, duh. But the game hates you for doing the tap-dodging because "INERTIA IS COOL! SCREW YOU!" That's why! That is no good! The demo actually only has 1 stage not counting the intro stage. It also includes a boss fight at the end. 8 minutes? Per stage? And this is just the STAGE 1!? The game has this sloggy repetitive feel from enemies getting recycled and the formations getting spammed and stretched on for long minutes...! Actual NES shmups don't make their stages this long! Last but not least. the power up bar SUCKS! It''s just a bomb, another slightly longer bomb, then HP recovery, and lastly, shot power up. That's it. One of the bad implications is if you absorb too many bullets then you'll lose the usage of the bomb because you're forced to recover your HP while the clear answer for safety at that very moment is actually using a BOMB! What if I'm at max power then my power bar is at max? I can't bomb!? I must flush it frequently so I don't lose my bomb from absorbing too many bullets?! This is ridiculous! I'm scared that this game will be a slog to play at all let alone 1cc on its full version. It may not seem to be the worst, but it's better to stay away from this game! #stg #shmup #steam
