Premiumisation is fueling growth, but supply chains need stability: Sunil Bohra

Premiumisation in vehicles is emerging as a key growth driver for the auto component industry, according to Sunil Bohra, Chief Financial Officer, Uno Minda. In this conversation with ETAuto, Bohra highlights how rising penetration of features such as alloy wheels, advanced lighting systems, sensors and haptic switches is supporting strong demand across multiple product segments. He notes that Uno Minda reported over 20 per cent revenue growth in the December quarter, driven by strong performance across businesses including alloy wheels, sensors and controllers. The company is also expanding its manufacturing footprint, with a new plant in Maharashtra approved with an investment of over ₹700 crore, alongside recently commissioned facilities.
