Imaging in Relapsing Polychondritis (RP)

The webinar focuses on imaging in relapsing polychondritis (RP) as one of the essential components in the diagnosis and assessment of the disease's progress. The range of possible imaging methods ranges from photography, conventional X-rays, computer tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, sonography, functional diagnostics using scintigraphy or position emission tomography, thermography and the fusion of various methods. What is established in this rare disease, what is dispensable and what could usefully supplement imaging in the next few years. The webinar will address the possible manifestations and regions, present the current evidence for the respective methods and provide suggestions for rational application. This will make the participant more confident in diagnosing and assessing the course of RP in the future. The speaker of this webinar is: Prof. Valentin S. Schäfer (MD, head of the Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology at the Clinic of Internal Medicine III, Head of the Ultrasound Diagnostic Unit, Speaker of the Center for Rare Rheumatological Diseases, Professor at University Hospital, Bonn, Germany) The moderator of this webinar is: Prof. Oliver Sander (MD, Clinic for Rheumatology, Heinrich Heine University - University Hospital, Düsseldorf, Germany) Prof. Schaefer is head of the Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology at the Clinic of Internal Medicine III at the University Hospital Bonn in Germany. Prof. Schaefer also serves as Head of the Ultrasound Diagnostic Unit and as Speaker of the Center for Rare Rheumatological Diseases. He holds the academic rank of a full University Professor at the Medical Faculty of the University Bonn, Germany. He has a focus on imaging and immunology in psoriatic arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis as well as vasculitis, has conducted several studies especially using ultrasound performed by dermatologists.
