by Jane Brown Alec Baldwin Photographer Punching Story: What's True, What Isn't About It? Alec Baldwin is being accused of punching out a photographer for no good reason. And that ought to be the first clue that something is a little off about that story. The "30 Rock" television star, and former husband to Kim Basinger, was all set to get his marriage license in New York today in order to wed his fiancée Hilaria Thomas, a yoga instructor, when something went wrong. The Marriage License Bureau scuffle that is making headlines allegedly began, according to the NY Daily News--who's photographer is making the claim, when Baldwin instructed three photographers to "step back' as he was attempting to pass. Three photographers to take one photo? That sounds almost like Princess Diana's motorcade of paparazzi in France when she died--overkill. He was looking mad," photographer Marcus Santos said, so he told the star "We're moving back." Santos said that wasn't enough for the celebrity known to have a temper, with Baldwin then decking him on the chin in a rage anyway. The famous television star tells it differently, using his Twitter account to share his side of the story. "A photographer almost hit me in the face with his camera this morning," the star tweeted. But that wasn't all he said, also saying that "#allpaparazzishouldbewaterboarded." Alec Baldwin isn't the first celebrity or television personality to complain about the boldness of photographers who help make them famous--and make a living taking their photos. He also isn't the first actor to have a reputation for being a bit of a hot-headed dude either (Russell Crowe's telephone-throwing incident comes to mind. Crowe plead guilty to that charge, by the way). So what's the truth about this incident: Is it another celebrity gang-up like Princess Di had in France, or just another hot-headed actor with an attitude? The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle, and likely includes this little tidbit: Baldwin was already angry at the NY Daily News for invading the privacy of his future bride's yoga class (and her 75 students) earlier in the year, E! Online reported. His anger appears to be directed at those who've stoked it already--not the photographers that cover him everyday in the normal course of his work.
